Kitply Cup 1st Match Result - Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 70 runs


In the opening match of the Kitply Cup, Pakistan beat host Bangladesh by 70-run victory, their 12th straight win equalling the joint second-longest ODI streak at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, on Sunday, 8th June 2008.

In a 40 over match after rain, half-centuries from Salman Butt and Mohammad Yousuf, 70 and 59 runs respectively took Pakistan to a commanding 233.

In reply, Bangladesh managed only 163 for 8 in their allotted overs, Mohammad Ashraful made a fighting, unbeaten 56. Wahab Riaz and Shahid Afridi took three wickets each.

Pakistan - 233 All Out in 39.3 Overs.

Bangladesh - 163/8 in 40 Overs.

Toss - Bangladesh, who chose to field first.

Man Of The Match - Salman Butt (Pakistan)

Result - Pakistan won by 70 runs.
